Duties:

  • Increase asset performance transparency across the Americas region and secure data integrity for renewable energy operations.
  • Develop tools to analyze the performance of operating assets (onshore wind, offshore wind, solar, and battery storage) through effective data management.
  • Support the design and implementation of key metrics to identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Utilize and maintain tools on data platforms to facilitate analysis with focus on anomaly detections as well as monitoring financial performance of assets.
  • Build reliable data pipelines using Python and SQL to extract, load, and transform large time-series datasets in data platforms like Databricks.
  • Utilize up-to-date technology to improve efficiency of existing tools and accommodate increasing data demand from an expanding asset portfolio.
  • Develop, report, and manage implementation of new metrics, algorithms, and indicators for renewable assets.
  • Refine and optimize processes in relation to internal and external reporting deliverables.
  • Design and maintain Excel templates, Python scripts, Power BI dashboards and paginated reports to automate periodic reports/invoice preparation.
  • Review and validate settlement mechanism in power purchase agreement (PPA) based on data availability and mathematical logic.
  • Estimate downtime lost revenue based on various revenue streams and PPA structures.
  • Use Azure DevOps to systematically classify internal learnings and manage projects.
  • Requires up to 10% domestic/foreign travel.

 

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in engineering, economics, computer science, mathematics, or related field; plus 1 year of experience in job offered or similar occupation in energy industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of relevant experience accepted in the alternative.
  • Knowledge of U.S. energy industry, including electricity markets, statistical methods, and economic models.
  • Experience with asset performance monitoring, version control tools (Git), data visualization tools (Power BI and Tableau), Python, R, and SQL.
