Operations Preparations Project Manager

Join us in this role where you’ll ensure the readiness of the asset’s O&M setup to ensure seamless operations from day one.

Welcome to Generation Commercial
You’ll be part of Generation Development & Project Delivery where you, together with your colleagues, will represent our long term interest from the Operator perspective in the Asset Project from the late Development phase, throughout Construction and until Final Transfer from EPC to Operations. You will ensure that all O&M readiness workstreams are implemented on time and on budget. We specialise in managing large and complex projects, collaborating to drive standardisation, and integrating best practices, toolkits, and lessons learned into our initiatives.  As a team, we work closely together with an O&M Director and a Transfer Project Manager. As part of your role, you will manage a matrix-organised team to successfully deliver your targets.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • delivering O&M-specific project gate deliverables according to the Project Operating Model
  • delivering and maximizing the O&M business case including DEVEX, CAPEX, OPEX and production-based availability while carefully considering the risk profile
  • creating a strong Operations team within a matrix-organised setup and establishing strong links within the EPC project
  • taking ownership and responsibility for the Safety Case and maintaining high HSE performance
  • delivering an optimal logistical, organisational and contractual setup including O&M facilities, O&M HSE Set-up, Digital Operation Implementation and the recruitment and training of O&M employees.
  • working with the Transfer Manager to maintain an overview of the project timeline (project approval, consent, procurement and construction milestones) to ensure O&M requirements are incorporated.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • possess a degree-level education, preferably with a deep understanding of the wind sector
  • are self-driven, organised, and structured, with the ability to work effectively even without established frameworks
  • have significant work experience from a role in project management in a technical industry such as energy, infrastructure or heavy industry, coupled with experience of working in cross-cultural and virtual teams
  • exhibit strong project management training and experience, along with commercial acumen and strategic thinking
  • have excellent stakeholder management skills, are persuasive, and thrive in a complex, global environment
  • are accustomed to preparing decision material for senior management, presenting risks, resource allocations, and budgets supported by strong business justifications.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.

Expect 6-10 days of travel per month to the UK, primarily Grimsby and occasionally London or Copenhagen, depending on home location and project phase.
