Financial Accountant

You’ll play an important role in:
- performing the month-end close activities of two to four renewable energy projects and related tax and cash equity partnerships
- preparing and reviewing reconciliations under US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), while ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of financial data
- preparing high-quality, US GAAP-compliant quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and accompanying footnotes
- performing budget-to-actual variance analysis and preparing monthly cash forecasts in collaboration with our asset management team
- using Hyperion to execute monthly consolidations under IFRS reporting
- preparing audit support and documentation for internal and external auditors, partnering with accounting management to facilitate successful audits
- encouraging a team-first environment with a focus on continuous improvement and development and assisting our tax team in compiling and organizing financial information required for the preparation and filing of tax return
A successful applicant for this role will:
- hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting and have at least three years of relevant experience, ideally in the energy industry
- possess a positive, team-oriented mindset and enjoy being a part of a high-performing team; have a desire to learn, take on new challenges, and strive to improve personal performance
- thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and meet strict reporting deadlines
- have experience preparing US GAAP-compliant financial statements and related footnotes
- be proficient in Microsoft Office; prior experience working with SAP and ONESOURCE is preferred
- be capable of working independently while seeking guidance on more complex matters, exercising critical thinking to solve problems within known areas and embrace a global mindset and collaborate effectively in a diverse, cross-functional setting\
- possess a robust base of technical accounting knowledge and a willingness to perform research when necessary. This person does not need to know all the answers, but a willingness to try will be appreciated. Familiarity with revenue recognition, leases, property, plant and equipment (PP&E), and
asset retirement obligations (ARO) accounting standards is a plus. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in writing high-quality technical accounting memos

Position salary range:
The salary range for this position is USD 80,149 to USD 136,808
Our salary ranges are based on multiple position levels and reflect the cost of labor across multiple U.S geographic markets within Chicago and Boston. Individual pay within the range is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can provide more details about the applicable salary range during the hiring process.
Variable Compensation: Our total rewards package may include discretionary short-term and long-term incentive opportunities based on your pay band and performance. These may be changed or suspended based on the sole discretion of the company
