Duties:

  • Establish and manage projects focused on research, market model development, and technology deployment to deliver critical insights for decision-makers across the commercial timeline for storage, wind, and solar assets.
  • Develop analytical tools to support the region’s storage ambitions while also providing insights into key market components influencing the development of battery energy storage systems (BESS).
  • Develop and refine BESS optimization frameworks, integrating cross-functional insights into battery trading strategies to maximize commercial value.
  • Provide strategic investment guidance and portfolio capacity recommendations based on forward-looking storage analytics.
  • Develop forecasting models for storage performance by incorporating evolving market trends, operational constraints, and pricing scenarios.
  • Incorporate modeling techniques to advise on option value pricing for solar and wind power purchase agreements (PPA).
  • Design and implement models to assess the diversification and risk hedging impact of new and existing assets in the portfolio.
  • Build expertise in fundamental market drivers, pricing dynamics across power and lithium markets, and key trading strategies.
  • Develop and implement new analytical models and tools across commercial and trading/operations environments.
  • Oversee the creation and operation of dashboards tracking real-time and historical generation-weighted pricing metrics and BESS spread performance for both operating and pipeline assets.
  • Partner with technical and business stakeholders to resolve complex data issues and ensure continuity of analytical workflows.

 

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related field.
  • Requires knowledge of SQL, Python, and R; predictive modeling; and time series forecasting.
  • Requires experience in conducting feasibility studies; financial analysis; establishing market strategies; optimization techniques (linear and nonlinear programming); advanced analytical methods for forecasting revenue; developing and implementing statistical algorithms, including market simulation; and developing and deploying dashboards, market models, analytical tools, and optimization frameworks to evaluate market dynamics and asset development.
