Python Developer
Join us in this role where you’ll develop and maintain Python-based solutions that support trading strategies, data visualisation, and market analysis, enabling us to maximise value from our renewables portfolio in a fast-moving environment.
Welcome to Business Development
You’ll be part of the Trading and Data Analytics team where you, together with your colleagues, will manage our portfolio through the creation of trading strategies, data visualisations, and market analysis. We work closely with traders and IT in an informal, collaborative, and energetic setting to deliver solutions that make a direct impact on revenue.
As a team, we value curiosity, collaboration, and a proactive mindset.
You’ll play an important role in:
- writing and maintaining Python code across existing and new systems
- improving reliability, performance, and maintainability of core services
- working closely with IT to design and manage robust data pipelines
- developing tools that optimise our onshore wind and green supply market positions
- creating trading strategies aimed at maximising profits for our renewables portfolio
- balancing feature delivery with refactoring and technical debt reduction.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have strong analytical skills and proven experience working with Python and SQL (data and ML stack)
- are curious and driven to create value through data and automation
- have a passion for power markets and the broader energy transition
- are proactive, resourceful, and comfortable navigating trade-offs between speed and quality
- enjoy working in a collaborative environment and contributing to team success.
