Technical Support Engineer

Join us in this role where you’ll support the end-to-end delivery of new projects from an Operational and Service perspective, working collaboratively with internal teams and contractors from financial investment decision through to operational handover. You will lead the development and review of tender documentation, evaluate and compare tender submissions, and negotiate service contracts to optimize value.

Welcome to Operations
You’ll be part of the Technical Operations team where you, together with your colleagues, will manage and support the technical infrastructure that underpins our operations. Our team is dedicated to maintaining high standards of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

As a team, we value collaboration, innovation, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This is a mid to senior-level role, suited to candidates with considerable technical, commercial and contractual experience in renewable energy project delivery and operations asset management.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • supporting the end-to-end delivery of new projects from an Operational and Service perspective, working collaboratively with internal teams and contractors from financial investment decision through to operational handover
  • leading the development and review of tender documentation for the operations department, including Employer Requirements, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with project objectives
  • evaluating and comparing tender submissions, providing clear recommendations based on technical, commercial, and contractual considerations
  • negotiating service contracts with confidence, securing terms that optimise value, while maintaining strong supplier relationships
  • acting as a senior point of contact for contractual queries, offering expert guidance to colleagues across the wider department
  • supporting project-level asset management activities as required, contributing experience and insight to ensure operational readiness and excellence
  • demonstrating strong ownership and a practical, value-driven approach, taking initiative and driving accountability across tasks and responsibilities.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have a relevant third-level qualification in engineering, data science, or a technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • have extensive experience in the renewable energy sector, ideally in an operational or contracting role
  • possess strong organisational and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a high level of integrity and professionalism
  • are capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a dynamic work environment
  • are capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team, with a flexible and proactive approach to problem-solving
  • have strong commercial awareness with the ability to apply technical insights to support sound decision-making
  • demonstrating strong ownership and a practical, value-driven approach, taking initiative and driving accountability across tasks and responsibilities.
  • possess a full, valid driving licence.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
