Generation Control Center Operator

Join us in this role where you’ll you will monitor and control offshore wind and renewable generation projects in the US from a state-of-the-art Control Center located in Port Jefferson, NY.

 

Welcome to Ørsted North America Operations
You’ll be part of a Generation Control Center where you, together with your colleagues, will ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of various renewable generating facilities to facilitate regulatory compliance while maximizing yield by monitoring and controlling assets under normal and emergency conditions. 

 

You’ll play an important role in:

  • monitoring and controlling renewable generation
  • operating Information and Operational Technology Systems
  • regulating ancillary services
  • generating facility alarm management and reporting
  • communicating with regional Independent System Operators (ISOs), NERC functional entities (RC/BA/TOP/TO), trading services and partners, and product vendors.

 

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have at least three years of control center operations and/or renewable generation operations experience 
  • have demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to train and develop others
  • have a thorough understanding of electrical theory and the purpose and applications of high/low voltage elements and associated protection systems
  • hold, or can obtain with company support, NERC System Operator certification (preferably RC)
  • are able to obtain, with company support, Ørsted Electrical Safety Rules authorization.
