Early phase Project Manager for Portfolio Optimisation & Projects

Join us in this role where you’ll be guiding infrastructure projects through the early stages by developing technical concepts, preparing early business cases and managing project teams. Thereby you will contribute to accelerating the green development of the future market for power, heat, and negative CO2 emissions.

 

Welcome to Bioenergy
You’ll be part of Portfolio Optimisation & Projects where you, together with your colleagues, will be responsible for optimising the assets in Bioenergy. Your efforts will ensure that we will remain a global leader in sustainable combined heat and power production. You’ll also contribute to expanding our portfolio by adding new ventures such as electrifying the district heating production, energy storage and balancing, and expanding our CO2 infrastructure. Bioenergy is Ørsted’s branch responsible for the combined heat and power plants located in Denmark. You’ll play an important role in:

  • shaping and maturing the early phases of our infrastructure projects
  • collecting ideas from stakeholders and develop a project from the idea phase to a maturated project ready to hand over to your colleagues for execution
  • developing technical concepts and preparing initial CAPEX/OPEX estimates for new projects and perform initial commercial feasibility evaluation
  • providing project management of the early project phases, such as budget, timeline, scope and engage engineering consultants
  • following the development of relevant technologies which could improve our existing asset portfolio
  • managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders ensuring that the project scoping is in line with strategic objectives.

 

To succeed in the role, you:

  • are curious and strive to combine ideas and knowledge gathered from colleagues, technical fora, suppliers, etc. with to be implemented in the concepts you develop
  • are comfortable performing overall technical and commercial calculations to help your projects move forward in the right direction before detailed data is available
  • possess a commercial mindset and can prepare, communicate effectively and present business cases for the different project solutions to both management and steering committees
  • have experience with technical concept development, project management or similar, preferably within the energy sector, process industry or engineering consultant - you hold a degree in engineering or other relevant education as well
  • are fluent in both written and spoken Danish and/or English
  • effectively navigate in a dynamic environment using a proactive and systematic approach to your work tasks.
