Energy Systems Model Developer

Join us in this role where you’ll maintain and develop Ørsted’s Danish power market model and use it to study measures making the production of power and district heat greener and more flexible. You’ll cooperate closely with the Business quantifying business cases related to the development of Ørsted’s Danish power plants, including carbon capture and storage.  Additionally, you will have opportunities to be involved in the development of tools related to studying the future European energy systems and ‘getting smarter’ initiatives (automating data flows, creating dashboards, etc.) in the department.

You’ll be part of the DK and Model Development team where you, together with your colleagues, will have the responsibility for supporting Ørsted’s growth journey in Denmark with model-based investigations. The team consists of different nationalities and is based in two locations. The Department is very international and consists of sixteen employees (engineers and economists) in two locations.

As a team, we discuss and prioritize tasks to ensure that we all learn from each other and find the best solutions. Our work culture is based on communication and sharing of ideas and efforts.

 

You’ll play an important role in:

  • maintaining and developing our Danish power market model
  • supporting development of our Danish power plant business through model-based investigations
  • cooperating with internal stakeholders in discussing and analyzing key issues including presentation of results toward senior management
  • maintaining and developing applications in the department related to handling of data flows and communication of results
  • developing existing or new tools enabling analysis of specific issues within energy system analysis.

 

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have energy system modelling experience preferably with a focus on optimization
  • have substantial hands-on experience with C# programming or other object-oriented language
  • have a master's degree in engineering
  • have a flair for working with complicated analytical challenges
  • are motivated and get energy from working with complicated issues related to the green transformation of energy systems.
