Head of Algo Desk

Join us in this role where you’ll lead small, high-impact algorithmic trading desk team, connecting the instincts of experienced traders with cutting-edge algorithmic strategies, driving performance, compliance, and innovation across proprietary and service-oriented trading initiatives.

 

Welcome to Algo Desk Team
You’ll be part of Europe Trading Team where you, together with your colleagues will design and execute custom algorithmic solutions. You’ll collaborate across desks, mentor team members, and ensure our trading strategies are aligned with market dynamics and regulatory frameworks.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • acting as the liaison between traders and the algorithmic development team to ensure trader insights shape both proprietary and service-oriented strategies
  • designing, implementing, and refining algorithmic trading strategies in the energy market, including the development of personal strategies
  • monitoring and analysing market trends and trading performance, adjusting algorithms based on data and trader feedback
  • collaborating across desks to align trading strategies and share best practices
  • ensuring compliance with energy trading regulations and internal policies
  • mentoring team members through performance reviews and training sessions focused on integrating trader perspectives into algorithmic models.

 

To succeed in the role, you:

  • possess hands-on expertise in algorithmic trading or quantitative finance, with deep knowledge of energy market dynamics, trading platforms, and risk management frameworks
  • demonstrate success in translating trader insights into effective algorithmic strategies
  • have a proven track record in developing and implementing profitable trading models
  • show strong programming skills, such as Python with emphasis on quantitative analysis
  • hold proven ability to bridge the gap between trader intuition and algorithmic strategies, with experience in developing successful trading strategies
  • are skilled in collaborating across technical and trading teams to achieve strategic outcomes.
