Head of Finance Risk

Imagine a future where you lead a talented Finance Risk team that translate Ørsted’s financial risk management and hedging activities into clear financial reporting

Join us in this role where you’ll be the line manager for a newly established team of five analysts across two locations. Together you’ll link Ørsted’s key market risk exposures with the hedging strategies that manage them, and translate the outcome into precise financial reporting and business insights.

Welcome to Market Risk
You’ll be part of Finance Risk in Market Risk, Trading & Revenue (T&R). We work in a caring and intellectually stimulating environment, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders across the organization, interacting with many different nationalities and backgrounds.  As a team, we strive to simplify complex risk and hedging strategies by combing business understanding, market knowledge (energy and financial markets), and accounting impacts.

As a team, we are curious and commercially oriented. We value a professional atmosphere yet keeping an informal tone with room for fun and laughter. We prioritize learning and knowledge sharing across the team.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • leading and developing a high-performing team and creating an inclusive, fun and motivating work environment
  • understanding and translating our complex risk picture and hedging activities into simple and relevant stories for our internal and external stakeholders
  • explaining and ensuring accurate accounting impacts of hedging strategies (incl. high attention to detail)
  • ensuring robust end-to-end processes for recurring financial reporting, hedge accounting, and forecasting
  • enhancing and maintaining the IFRS 9 hedge accounting framework, ensuring formal hedge documentation and ongoing compliance.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • bring experience in financial risk management, auditing, management reporting, or business controlling
  • have experience in leading and developing talents across distance (or strong motivation and relevant experience to step into a line management role)
  • create results through others and build followership through honest, clear communication
  • thrive in change and enjoy collaborating across functions, geographies, and cultures.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
