Head of Forecasting & Market Analysis

Imagine a future where you lead the team whose models, forecasts, and market views shape how a global green energy leader trades and manages power, gas and carbon - turning fundamental insight into faster, more confident decisions across all of Trading & Revenue.

Join us in this role where you’ll lead a multidisciplinary team of model developers, forecasters and market analysts who deliver the supply-demand and price forecasts, production forecasts for Ørsted’s offshore wind assets, fundamental models and market views that Trading and other commercial teams rely on every day. You will own the development and delivery of short- to mid-term market analysis and modelling (with the relevant long-term interface), and you will represent Trading & Revenue’s fundamental Market Views - explaining the models, the market dynamics behind them and how they are performing, to audiences ranging from quants, traders, originators and portfolio managers to senior leadership.

Welcome to Trading & Revenue Analytics
You’ll be part of Forecasting & Market Analysis where you, together with your colleagues, will deliver market views, production forecasts, and fundamental models that support Trading and other commercial teams. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team and work closely with colleagues across Analytics, including Data Science & Platforms and Algo Development, as well as traders, quants, originators, and portfolio managers.

As a team, we combine commercial focus, curiosity, and knowledge sharing to turn analytics into impact. We support each other, work closely with the business, and value diverse perspectives.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • leading the development of short- and mid-term market analysis, modelling, and forecasting across power, gas, and carbon
  • shaping and representing Trading & Revenue’s market views, translating complex market dynamics and model performance into clear business insight
  • delivering robust supply, demand, price, weather, and offshore wind production forecasts that support trading, portfolio, and risk decisions
  • developing a high-performing team of model developers, forecasters, and market analysts with a strong focus on collaboration, quality, and impact
  • setting direction for forecasting standards, model governance, and performance tracking to ensure consistency and continuous improvement
  • partnering closely with stakeholders across value streams and analytics teams to align priorities, strengthen data products, and enable better commercial decisions.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • bring strong leadership experience from quantitative, analytical, or modelling-focused teams, and know how to enable different profiles to thrive
  • have deep knowledge of power and gas market fundamentals, price formation, and forecasting, and can connect analysis to commercial use cases
  • communicate complex technical and market topics clearly, building trust with stakeholders ranging from specialists to senior leadership
  • take a structured, commercially minded approach to modelling, prioritisation, and delivery in a dynamic trading environment
  • collaborate effectively across trading, portfolio, risk, and analytics communities, turning business needs into clear modelling priorities
  • hold a degree in economics, engineering, mathematics, physics, energy, or equivalent experience.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
