Head of Generation Substation Engineering

Join us in this role where you’ll lead the Generation Transmission Engineering team, set technical direction for operating substations, and strengthen engineering capability across regions. You’ll help optimise asset performance by shaping maintenance strategies, reliability programmes, and asset integrity plans throughout the operational lifecycle.

Welcome to Transmission & Cables
You’ll be part of the Transmission and Cables team where you, together with your colleagues, will provide technical leadership and fleet-wide support for transmission systems in our operating onshore and offshore wind substations. The team brings together LV mechanical and HV expertise and works across regions to support operations, engineering, and asset project transfer.

You’ll play an important role in:

• being responsible for the disciplinary and technical leadership of the Generation Transmission Engineering team which consist of LV Mechanical Team and HV team for our operating on and offshore substations
• managing the team activity and priorities following Generation Business priorities, to develop the core competencies within the team
• ensuring technical excellence, capability growth, succession planning, and effective knowledge sharing across regions
• providing fleet-wide technical oversight for transmission systems within the operating substations
• ensuring the technical support from the course team to Generation region engineering support and asset project transfer and harmonisation of use of resource
• developing, maintaining, and continuously improve maintenance strategies, reliability programmes, and asset integrity plans to optimise technical availability and lifecycle costs.

To succeed in the role, you:

• have a bachelors or masters degree within Engineering or similar
• demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and proven experience managing engineering, operations, or asset management teams within a complex operational environment.
• possess a solid understanding of the operational and maintenance priorities associated with and transmission systems throughout the asset lifecycle.
• have a strategic and proactive mindset, with the ability to define technical roadmaps, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and lead change across the Generation transmission engineering discipline.
• Are able to combine strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound engineering judgement to manage technical risks and optimise asset performance.
• ​​Can communicate confidently in English, both written and spoken, and collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse technical and cultural backgrounds.​

Position salary range:
For this position, the expected base pay range is kr63,280.00- kr94,920.00 for the advertised location. The offered base salary will be determined within this range based on relevant skills, experience, and expected role fulfilment within the stated pay range to ensure a fair and competitive offer. Where applicable, you may also be eligible for variable payment and a comprehensive benefits package.
