Head of Origination

Join us in this role where you’ll lead Ørsted's Origination function within Trading & Revenue. You'll define the strategic direction for origination activities, expand commercial opportunities across markets and counterparties, and ensure the successful development of long-term value-creating partnerships. As a senior leader, you'll play a key role in shaping our commercial agenda specifically driving the growth within our new Structured Portfolio function.

 

Welcome to Trading & Revenue
You’ll be part of Trading & Revenue where you, together with your colleagues, will optimise revenue streams, develop commercial opportunities, and create value across Ørsted's proprietary and asset portfolio. In this role, you'll lead the Origination team and collaborate closely with senior leaders across portfolio management, contract management, risk management, legal, and commercial functions to drive sustainable business growth.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • setting the strategic direction for Origination and delivering a strong pipeline of value-creating commercial opportunities with clear ownership on proprietary activities
  • identifying and developing new business opportunities, partnerships, and market access solutions that support Trading & Revenue's growth ambitions
  • leading negotiations and overseeing the successful execution of complex commercial agreements
  • acting as a senior representative for Origination across internal and external stakeholder networks
  • leading, developing, and growing a high-performing team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and commercial excellence.

 

To succeed in the role, you:

  • bring a strong background in energy origination ideally within power markets, with the commercial judgement to identify, shape, and progress value-creating opportunities
  • have solid understanding of energy markets, structured commercial arrangements, and portfolio-based value creation
  • are experienced in managing negotiations, contracting processes, and complex stakeholder landscapes
  • can build trusted relationships externally, while navigating internal governance, risk, legal, and tax requirements effectively
  • lead with clarity, collaboration, and accountability, creating direction for others in a commercially dynamic environment
  • have strong executive presence and can engage confidently with senior stakeholders across commercial, technical, and control functions.

Position salary range:
For this position, the expected base pay range is kr88,000.00- kr132,000.00 for the advertised location. The offered base salary will be determined within this range based on relevant skills, experience, and expected role fulfilment within the stated pay range to ensure a fair and competitive offer. Where applicable, you may also be eligible for variable payment and a comprehensive benefits package.
