Join us in this role where you’ll lead Ørsted’s Trading team, creating value by handling asset flows and conducting proprietary trading in forward markets, as well as through short-term power trading in day-ahead and intra-day markets, including providing a route-to-market for Orsted’s assets. You’ll set the strategic direction and further scale a profitable trading organisation with a significant digital agenda. You will lead a trading unit of approximately 35 FTEs, with the possibility to expand across commodities and geographies.

Welcome to Trading & Revenue
You’ll be part of the Trading & Revenue Senior Leadership team where you, together with your colleagues, will run a European-based trading set-up spanning market trading and short-term power trading. You’ll work closely with risk management and analytics to execute internal flow, deliver portfolio optimisation (day-ahead, intraday, ancillary services), and provide market access for other value streams.

You’ll play an important role in:

• developing and owning the trading strategy, delivering on sustainable P&L growth
• integrating forward trading and short-term trading into a cohesive and collaborative trading organisation
• expanding scope across products and markets, including spreads, volatility, cross-commodity, and cross-border trading within VaR limits
• leading the digital transformation of trading including scaling algorithmic trading strategies in close partnership with Analytics
• providing an efficient route-to-market for Ørsted assets, and optimizing cross-asset and cross-commodity synergies
• maintaining robust risk controls and ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulations in collaboration with Risk Management and Legal
• leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing organisation, and driving a step-change for the digital transformation agenda.

To succeed in the role, you:

• bring senior leadership experience from an energy trading environment, with a strong commercial, strategic and growth mindset and a record of building teams and delivering outcomes
• have a demonstrated ability to generate sustainable P&L performance through active position management and proprietary trading while exhibiting a high level of risk discipline and compliance
• be well versed in short-term power trading and optimisation, including day-ahead, intraday/ balancing and ancillary service markets
• have experience developing and scaling algorithmic trading strategies and working effectively with quantitative, analytics, and technology partners
• are an inclusive, empowering leader who leads through clarity, provides strategic direction and role-models strong collaboration across stakeholders
• has executive presence and is able to engage effectively with senior management.
