Kafka Platform Engineer

Join us in this role where you’ll be working in a growing team with cutting edge data technology where you’ll play a key role in developing our new cloud-based Kafka streaming solution. You’ll collaborate globally to ensure a secure, scalable and cost-effective solution and will be given the opportunity to contribute to a diverse and inclusive environment that values work life balance.

Welcome to Ørsted IT
You’ll be part of Ørsted Data Ecosystem where you, together with your colleagues, will take to the next level; a modern cloud-based data platform that facilitates the collection, processing, and consumption of data from all our business units. We utilize both batch and streaming patterns to make data accessible to analysts, data scientists, and machine learning models.

As a team, we empower decision-making, encourage collaboration, and foster a diverse and inclusive environment where we take full ownership.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • continuously improving and extending the Kafka streaming platform, part of the Data Ecosystem infrastructure in the cloud and on-premise
  • adopting Kafka streaming in additional low latency use-cases to create more value for the business users regarding asset operations, trading, and other exciting areas
  • collaborating with architects to set guidelines and standards for Kafka
  • troubleshooting on incidents reported by data engineers relating to the streaming platform and helping them to succeed with their deliveries.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have strong experience in Kafka technology, Kafka platform operation, or Kafka applications
  • have experience using Kubernetes, Docker, as well as deploying, maintaining, monitoring, and securing cloud resources (e.g., on Azure or AWS)
  • have experience with automation, version control, DevOps, IaC and CI/CD (e.g., using Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Terraform)
  • have experience in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, and Azure CLI) and it is a big plus also having experience with software development (e.g., using Python, Java or C#)
  • enjoy collaborating on features and user stories with your colleagues in the team, and can show transparency with your work through documenting and communicating it clearly, both in meetings, comments, chats, and pull requests.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
