Lead Category Manager

Join us in this role where you’ll be responsible for developing and implementing global category strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders, drawing on your experience to influence final decisions. The services include, among others, management consultants of all kinds, insurance services, legal services, M&A-related due diligence services, and various financial services. You’ll also be the functional manager of three members of the Professional Services category team. The team members are also part of either the Sourcing or Contract Management team where their people managers are.

 

Welcome to Indirect Procurement
You’ll be part of the Category Management Team where you, together with your colleagues, will develop global category strategies and individual tender strategies to deliver and implement contracts within the agreed time and budget. In Indirect Procurement we’re approx. 45 people responsible for procurement within the categories IT, HR, travel, professional services, facility management, and marketing. You’ll play an important role in:

  • engaging with key stakeholders, understanding ambitions, building category strategies which ensure the best value, securing supply, and focusing on lowering costs
  • providing guidance and mentoring to colleagues in the Professional Services team, which means prioritising the pipeline of sourcing projects and supporting value creation in contract management
  • connecting with other category leads across categories and coordinating initiatives
  • participating in sourcing of large and/or complex contracts
  • monitoring market trends and suppliers to keep procurement strategies up-to-date.

 

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have a cross-disciplinary background based on a master’s degree in economics, business, law, or equivalent
  • have proven experience with category management
  • have proven experience with procurement of professional services
  • have the credibility and gravitas to work with C-suite level stakeholders
  • are a strong communicator and have strong interpersonal skills.
