Lead Innovation Manager

Join us in this role where you’ll turn bold ideas into real world impact by leading innovation initiatives that transform the performance of Ørsted’s asset base. From early exploration to scaled solutions, you’ll connect strategy, operations and innovation to futureproof Ørsted and our planet.

Welcome to Innovation Asset Performance
As a Lead Innovation Manager you’ll be part of a team of intrapreneurs who lead innovation projects related to Ørsted’s asset base. Together with colleagues from operations, engineering, digital, and commercial teams, you’ll guide high potential initiatives through Ørsted’s innovation funnel. You’ll lead project teams, collaborating across functions and with external partners to move ideas to impact.

As a team, we are curious, collaborative, and ambitious. We have a sharp focus on driving value and impact, combining structured innovation methods and deep business understanding with the courage to challenge how things are done.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • leading innovation projects through the project lifecycle from problem discovery through validation to scaling, ensuring evidence‑based decisions
  • identifying high impact opportunities by linking asset performance insights with market and technology trends
  • designing and running pilots, experiments, and proofs of concept to test and mature ideas
  • building clear and compelling business cases covering value, scalability, and business models
  • facilitating prioritisation and decision making with senior and executive stakeholders
  • leading cross functional project teams and external partners to deliver tangible outcomes
  • continuously developing and learning with colleagues in the innovation department.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • bring a strong innovation toolbox, such as design thinking, venture building, or future thinking
  • have strong commercial instincts and know how to assess and validate ideas in terms of market potential, scalability, and business model
  • have experience driving innovation projects within asset-heavy, or industrial environments
  • you have experience from launching and scaling innovative solutions or products to real customers
  • communicate with clarity and confidence and are comfortable engaging executive level stakeholders
  • are naturally curious, open to feedback, and motivated by learning through experimentation
  • collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • hold a relevant degree, or equivalent experience, within innovation, engineering, business, economics or a related field.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
