Lead Metocean Engineer

Join us in this role where you’ll be responsible for metocean assessments to be used for development, construction and operation of our offshore wind farms. You’ll get a chance to put your analytical skills to work when assessing site specific metocean conditions for offshore wind farms.

 

Welcome to Asset Value Engineering

You’ll be part of the Metocean, Ecology and USV team where you, together with your colleagues, will take lead on metocean assessments to be used for design of offshore support structures and offshore operations planning. You’ll join a department of close to 100 experts in the Asset Value Engineering functional area. We are responsible for providing data, analysis and the design-basis for development, execution and operation of the world largest portfolio of offshore windfarms. We offer a unique opportunity to work with industry leaders and all essentially aspects of wind farm design. You’ll engage with a unique organization with a wide range of stakeholders, allowing you to gain a holistic understanding of the business.

 

You’ll play an important role in: 

  • executing and coordinating project deliverables towards a variety of stakeholders
  • working closely together with our design and loads engineers
  • scoping and procuring metocean data from external partners and analyse site-specific metocean parameters as input for load calculations, offshore installation works, cable installation analysis etc.
  • cooperating closely with Package Managers, Measurement Engineers, Load Engineers, and many other internal and external stakeholders
  • developing new tools and methodologies.

 

To succeed in the role, you: 

  • have an education that supports a broad and detailed understanding of the Metocean discipline
  • are curious and quick to learn from our wide range of technical and commercial experts regarding statistical analysis and extreme value analysis
  • are outgoing and enjoy navigating and cooperating in a complex matrix organisation with many stakeholders
  • have excellent communication skills, speak and write English fluently
  • have a thorough understanding of and great experience in applying metocean conditions, hydrodynamics, aerodynamics, stochastic processes, and statistics
  • are result-oriented and have a pragmatic approach to problem solving, as well as the ability to convert customer needs and complex problems into manageable tasks.
