Lead Model Validator

Join us in this role where you’ll ll help build and shape our model validation function from the ground up. You’ll apply your expertise in data science and risk modelling to validate and improve the models that underpin our risk decisions, ensuring they meet both regulatory standards and business needs.

Welcome to Group Risk Management
You’ll be part of Model Validation in Group Risk Management.

We are building a dedicated Model Validation team within Group Risk management. You will play a key role in setting up the validation function. Together, we’ll apply our analytical and detective skills to the group’s risk models to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, while delivering value-adding reporting. You will have a unique opportunity to help shape the team, tasks, products and our ways of working in the process of building the validation function and possibly apply experience from other risk areas to models focused on energy markets.

As a team, we aim to combine deep risk expertise and curiosity with room for different approaches and a collaborative and inclusive team-player culture. We value open dialogue and take pride in building a strong second line of defence together.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • building robust and flexible data and coding structures to support model analysis, monitoring, and reporting
  • conducting thorough validation of risk models to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory expectations
  • analysing market, counterparty, and credit risk models to identify vulnerabilities and improvement areas
  • developing clear, stakeholder-oriented reports that provide actionable insights and support informed risk decisions.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • hold a degree in finance, economics, physics, data science, engineering, or a similar quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience
  • have excellent coding skills, preferably in Python, and enjoy strengthening team capabilities
  • bring experience working with data-driven processes such as models, ideally in the financial sector, energy markets, or consultancy
  • thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy contributing to a shared mission.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
