Lead Physical Security Specialist

Welcome to Global Security
You’ll be part of the Physical and Technical Security team where you, together with your colleagues will be responsible for technical and physical security across all Ørsted sites worldwide, supporting business units wherever they operate. With colleagues based at our headquarters in Gentofte, Denmark, and a truly global remit, you’ll collaborate closely with other security experts, project coordinators, and operational security professionals. You’ll play an important role in:
- providing technical leadership, project management, and guidance on a global scale, and supporting stakeholders, procurement managers in contract-related matters
- developing, implementing, and continuously improving technical guidelines, standards, and specifications for physical security systems, ensuring compliance and best practice across Ørsted’s portfolio
- advising project teams and site management on security system design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and maintenance, covering both new construction and upgrades to existing site
- driving and participating in complex security projects, including vendor management, technical evaluations, and overseeing tender processes to secure optimal solutions
- collaborating closely with operational security, compliance team, IT, and other internal stakeholders to ensure integrated, robust security solutions and effective incident response
- providing ongoing support to business units worldwide, responding to technical queries, supporting audits, and ensuring the reliability and integrity of security systems.
To succeed in the role, you:
- demonstrate extensive experience in technical security, with a strong background in intrusion detection, CCTV, or access control, preferably in a global critical infrastructure or offshore environment
- show documented education and training in security technologies; a background as an electrician or engineer with progression into security project management is highly valued
- exhibit proven ability to manage complex projects, develop technical specifications, and oversee procurement and commissioning of large-scale security systems
- display excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders and collaborate effectively across teams and cultures
- apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a pragmatic mindset, and the ability to innovate and drive continuous improvement in a fast-evolving security landscape
- demonstrate resilience to thrive in a complex, matrixed organization, balancing the drive for progress with the realities of internal processes.

Please note that you’re expected to do some traveling in relation to your work, as you’ll require you to travel for work, with approximately 10–15% of your time spent on short trips , usually lasting 2–7 days, to Ørsted project sites around the world, primarily during various project phases.
