Lead SCADA SCS Specialist
Join us in this role where you’ll act as the technical owner of the SCS scope, ensuring the integrity, compliance, and performance of our Substation Control Systems across multiple asset projects. You’ll help drive a more standardised way of working, strengthen alignment between projects, and support a seamless transition from design to commissioning and operations.
Welcome to SCS & Metering Systems
You’ll be part of the SCS & Metering Systems team where you, together with your colleagues, will develop and maintain the technical foundations of our substation control systems, including design bases, system requirements, verification standards, and documentation. The team consists of a small internal group supported by a larger consultant network, and you’ll collaborate closely with engineers across whole engineering in Ørsted.
As a team, we collaborate openly, care for each other’s success, and work together to deliver safe, reliable, and high‑quality engineering.
You’ll play an important role in:
- acting as the technical owner of the SCS scope, ensuring system performance, compliance, and requirement traceability
- maintaining and improving SCS design bases, system requirements, specifications, verification approaches, and documentation standards
- leading SCS alignment across projects to support a uniform way of working, ensuring lessons learned and standardisation are applied
- identifying and managing technical risks early, enabling clear escalation and resolution processes
- supporting evaluation and qualification of new technologies, suppliers, and system components to strengthen design maturity.
To succeed in the role, you:
- bring in‑depth experience within Substation Control Systems (SCS)—this is essential for acting as the go‑to expert
- have experience from the offshore wind or offshore power industry, enabling strong understanding of operational context and stakeholder landscape
- demonstrate structured systems thinking and the ability to work across complex, multi‑package engineering projects
- have solid experience in stakeholder management and working within project organisations
- understand testing methodologies such as FAT, SAT, and SIT, and are comfortable working with structured development frameworks (e.g., V‑model, SDP)
- communicate clearly, collaborate naturally, and take ownership of decisions within your technical responsibility areas.
Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
