OT Security Engineer

Imagine a future where cyber‑resilient power generation keeps renewable energy flowing safely and reliably, even in highly complex operational environments.

Join us in this role where you’ll help protect Ørsted’s power generation assets by strengthening the security of Operational Technology (OT) systems. You’ll focus on vulnerability assessment, incident analysis, and pragmatic risk reduction, ensuring security measures support safe and continuous operations without compromising uptime.

Welcome to OT Guard & Service Management
You’ll be part of OT Guard & Service Management where you, together with your colleagues, will safeguard operational technology across power generation by working closely with OT system teams, the Cyber Defence Centre, and external service providers. The team acts as a technical bridge between OT subject matter experts and security operations, supporting assets across markets.

As a team, we succeed as one by combining deep technical expertise with practical collaboration, caring about safety, integrity, and results in everything we do.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • supporting the tuning of OT vulnerability detection by providing actionable feedback to the Security Operations Centre
  • performing deep‑dive technical analysis of OT vulnerabilities to assess real‑world risk within complex industrial architectures
  • developing pragmatic remediation plans, including compensatory controls when patching is not feasible
  • acting as the primary technical point of contact for unconfirmed OT security incidents
  • contributing to the development of OT security incident response plans together with OT incident response teams and the SOC.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have a solid understanding of operational technology environments and how power generation assets operate
  • bring an educational background in cyber security or equivalent experience within industrial or OT security
  • apply analytical rigour, questioning scan results and assessing vulnerabilities in their operational context
  • communicate complex security topics clearly to OT engineers and stakeholders, focusing on operational risk
  • demonstrate operational pragmatism, balancing security improvements with safety and availability requirements.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
