SCADA Engineer

Join us in this role where you’ll help protect Ørsted’s power generation assets by strengthening availability, reliability and security of SCADA and Control systems. You’ll focus on incident management, reactive and proactive maintenance ensuring operational and security measures to support safe and continuous operations without compromising uptime.

 

Welcome to OT SCADA & Control
You’ll be part of the OT SCADA & Control team, responsible for the operations engineering of SCADA and control systems across offshore wind farms. where you, together with your colleagues, will play a key role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and cybersecurity of operational technology systems supporting renewable energy production. We work closely with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and asset teams.

As a team, we support incident management, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive maintenance, cybersecurity improvements, and lifecycle management of SCADA platforms across multiple technologies and assets

 

You’ll play an important role in:

  • performing periodic remote health checks and annual onsite inspections of substation control and SCADA systems
  • executing corrective and preventive maintenance activities to ensure reliable and secure operation of substation automation systems
  • troubleshooting and resolving issues related to substation SCADA, control systems, communication infrastructure, and connected devices
  • supporting incident management and root cause investigations together with internal stakeholders, OEMs, and external vendors
  • supporting cybersecurity maintenance activities in line with local regulations and internal ISMS policies. Supporting lifecycle activities, upgrades, and integration of new assets and systems into the operational environment
  • collaborating with operations, engineering, and project teams to improve system availability, reliability, and operational performance.

 

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have an academic degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience
  • have experience working with substation SCADA and control systems across vendor platforms such as MicroSCADA, DS Agile, EcoStruxure, SICAM 230, or similar solutions
  • possess a solid understanding of servers, industrial networking, and operational technology infrastructure. Have experience working with IEDs and communication systems within IEC 61850 substation automation environments
  • have practical troubleshooting and debugging experience related to substation communication systems and SCADA environments. Understand cybersecurity principles and best practices in operational technology environments
  • have experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders including vendors, operations teams, and engineering functions.

Position salary range: 

For this role, the base pay will be determined according to the relevant pay structure for the location where the position is filled. Actual pay will be based on skills, experience, and the expected role fulfilment to ensure a fair and competitive offer. Where applicable, you may also be eligible for variable payment and a comprehensive benefits package. Pay details specific to your location will be provided during the interview process.
