Senior Algo Platform Developer

Join us in this role where you’ll be responsible for developing, maintaining, and advancing our algorithmic trading platform. Built on top of Azure Kubernetes, our algorithmic trading platform enables us to go from idea to the Energy Markets in the shortest time possible, with high consistency and quality standards. You will leverage your programming skills and data engineering in the exciting world of energy trading, while collaborating closely with traders, analysts, and other quantitative developers.

Welcome to Trading & Revenue
You’ll be part of Trading Applications & Insights where you, together with your colleagues, will support the European Trading department and key decision makers across Trading & Revenue. Our team consists of dedicated quantitative developers, desk analysts and model developers with diverse backgrounds in energy market analysis, data science, engineering, mathematical modelling, quantitative finance and meteorology.

As a team, we value flexibility, experimentation, and knowledge sharing, working in virtual teams with experienced traders, analysts, quants, and other specialists.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • developing, maintaining and improving the algo trading platform. This includes tools for monitoring algo statistics and behaviour, order execution, logging and databases
  • writing high-quality production code that governs algorithmic behaviour in live energy markets, directly influencing trading outcomes and business performance
  • making data easily available for algo development and production. Both batch jobs and streaming
  • creating and maintaining clear, well-structured documentation to support knowledge sharing, onboarding, and compliance
  • Supporting the deployment and lifecycle management of trading algorithms, including testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and iterative improvement
  • championing best practices in software engineering, data management, and operational excellence within the team

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have hands-on experience with Python, writing maintainable, scalable, and production-ready code for data-driven applications
  • possess solid SQL skills and a strong understanding of relational databases, including designing, querying, and optimizing data workflows
  • excel in close collaboration with traders to deliver against P/L targets, demonstrating strong ownership, proactivity, clear communication, and genuine passion for the work
  • are comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
  • demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • excellent stakeholder management across traders, analysts, quants, data engineers and platform developers.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
