Join us in this role where you’ll trade and optimise renewable power across intraday markets while ensuring balance within our offshore wind portfolio. You’ll actively contribute to trading strategies, support real-time decision-making, and help maximise the value of renewable assets in dynamic market conditions.

 

Welcome to European Power

You’ll be part of Short Term Power Trading where you, together with your colleagues, will provide the route to market for our offshore wind portfolio, executing on trading strategies and opportunities in the market while keeping the portfolio in balance. You’ll be working in a team of nine bright and dedicated colleagues where you’ll be trading within the rapidly changing world of power markets and constantly adapting to the situation. You’ll work closely with other traders and quants, sharing your thoughts and ideas to create the best strategies and algorithms to optimize performance. We expect all team members to actively contribute to the development of our trading setup, analytical capabilities, and automation solutions.

 

As a team, we collaborate closely, share knowledge openly, and continuously improve how we trade and optimise renewable energy.

 

You’ll play an important role in:

  • participating in a 24/7 shift rotation, covering 365 days a year, as part of the duty trading roster.
  • balancing and optimising our power position in Europe, by using auctions, IntraDay market, imbalance market, interconnectors, proprietary trading and aftermarket
  • monitoring, developing, and deciding on short-term trading strategies for our entire portfolio while monitoring our risk and ensuring compliance with rules and regulations
  • continuously challenging and improving our analytical capabilities, trading strategies, automation, and operational processes, while driving selected initiatives from idea through implementation.

 

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have an understanding of the energy markets and financial products and the compliance within the area
  • ideally have knowledge of the European power market focused around intraday, renewable asset balancing, capacity trading, proprietary trading and the imbalance market in UK, Netherlands, and Germany
  • demonstrate enthusiasm, possess logical reasoning skills and seek to contribute to the development of trading strategies
  • have an analytical mindset and an interest in data-driven decision making; experience with Python, SQL, automation, or quantitative analysis is considered an advantage.
  • remain calm in high-pressure situations and alert during quieter periods
  • are skilled at multitasking, maintaining oversight, and making quick decisions and responses
  • are a team player and willing to go the extra mile when needed to support your colleagues
  • are aligned with partial work hours on weekends and holidays as well as evening and awake night shifts on rotation, understanding that shift work hours will be performed onsite at the office.

Position salary range:
For this position, the expected base pay range is kr53,360.00- kr80,040.00 for the advertised location. The offered base salary will be determined within this range based on relevant skills, experience, and expected role fulfilment within the stated pay range to ensure a fair and competitive offer. Where applicable, you may also be eligible for variable payment and a comprehensive benefits package.
