Senior Trading Analyst

Join us in this role where you’ll be responsible for driving business value by creating insights into contract performance, support our performance data setup and enable it to support our future growth. You’ll be responsible for developing and tracking our financial performance across our different contracts and portfolios and communicate results to management and other stakeholders.

 

Welcome to Europe Power, Portfolio Performance
You’ll be part of Europe Power, Portfolio Performance where you, together with your colleagues, will work closely with our short-term traders, quants, portfolio managers and IT to secure contracts are understood, operated, and optimised in the best possible way. Focus is our European markets which mainly evolves around United Kingdom, Germany and Holland.

As a team, we are curious and collaborative, always looking for new ways to understand the market, improve what we do and create meaningful value. We care deeply about our work and like to keep an informal tone.

 

You’ll play an important role in:

  • delivering analytics on market, contract and trading performance as well as actionable insights and recommendations
  • translating our contracts into code in collaboration with our portfolio managers and quantitative analysts using Python and SQL
  • supporting our real-time reporting and data-driven processes
  • helping grow our short-term trading and contract PnL
  • presenting performance, insights and recommendations to management and other relevant stakeholders.

 

To succeed in the role, you:

  • demonstrate a keen interest in energy and especially power markets
  • have a background in data science, economics, engineering, or similar STEM field
  • 2+ years with hands-on experiencing handling large amount of data in a power trading environment
  • demonstrate an ability to translate data into actionable market opportunities
  • possess solid skills writing production ready code for data driven applications (data injection, data pipeline and visualisation)

  • demonstrate strong commercial acumen, communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
