Software Engineer with SCADA Experience

Imagine a future where you help bridge the gap between physical equipment and smart digital systems that keep our power plants running reliably, efficiently, and safely.

Join us in this role where you’ll design, build, and maintain high quality software solutions that integrate sensors, PLCs, SCADA systems, and modern IT infrastructure. You’ll work across both hardware and software layers, enabling stable data flows, automation, and seamless operation of our power plant environments.

Welcome to SMARTplant
You’ll be part of `SMARTplant People 2 where you, together with your colleagues, will develop, maintain, and optimise software interfaces that enable our power plant equipment to communicate with central control and reporting systems. The team works across operational and technical domains to ensure robust, scalable, and secure solutions that support our modernisation journey.

As a team, we care about each other, succeed as one, and bring passion into building solutions that matter.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • integrating SCADA and PLC systems into central data and automation platforms
  • developing and maintaining APIs and software interfaces that connect physical devices and control systems
  • supporting the migration of legacy solutions into modern platforms, including cloud ready setups
  • ensuring stable and secure operation of applications running on both Windows and Linux environments
  • contributing to the deployment of modern development practices, such as Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines
  • collaborating with cross functional colleagues to troubleshoot, enhance, and deliver reliable technical solutions.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • bring practical understanding of data centre environments and direct hardware interaction
  • bring awareness of OT security principles and an understanding of NIS2 requirements
  • are comfortable working in both Windows and Linux environments, building, securing, and running applications end to end
  • have hands on knowledge of SCADA systems, PLC programming, .NET or C#, or equivalent experience
  • are familiar with cloud technologies, containerisation tools, and pipelines, or equivalent experience
  • enjoy analysing complex problems and finding simple, effective solutions
  • communicate clearly and thrive when working in a collaborative, multi stakeholder setting.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
