Student Assistant to support biomass market analysis through data science

Join us in this role where you’ll help model data relevant for the energy markets, code analytics tools for data driven decision making and communicate results and conclusions to colleagues and management.

 

Welcome to Bioenergy
You’ll be part of the Fuel & Biocarbon Supply Team where you, together with your colleagues, will l provide analytical insights and support to a dedicated and collaborative team of traders, originators, planners, business developers and management responsible for sourcing biomass to Ørsted’s combined heat and power plants. English is the primary language in the department, and this position is scheduled for 20 hours weekly. As a team, we believe in collaboration and always help each other to achieve the best results. You’ll play an important role in:

  • developing autonomous and efficient flows of data
  • building analytics tools and dashboards used for decision support
  • overseeing from backend to frontend our tools and models
  • communicating and collaborating with team members and external stakeholders
  • maintain databases and IT tools up to date
  • extract valuable insights from data.

 

To succeed in the role, you:

  • are currently studying IT, data science, engineering, economics, business, mathematics, or another relevant discipline, and have at least two years left before graduating
  • possess good skills within data analysis and comfortable with code-based analytics
  • have experience with e.g., Python, R or SQL and a wish to improve your skills
  • are interested in visualizing and communicating results using dashboard tools such as Power BI
  • speak and write English fluently - understanding Danish both verbally and in writing will be an advantage however not a requirement.
