Student Assistant within financial risk model development

Join us in this role where you’ll contribute to our in-house developed platform modelling Ørsted’s financial risks – ranging from wind farm and power plant production to trading activities and customer sales. You’ll be faced with a broad range of tasks including technical coding problems, business solutions, and ad-hoc analyses. Also, in collaboration with you colleagues, you’ll design, develop, and maintain code and tools primarily in Python while applying your technical skills to continuously improve and optimise our platform.

Welcome to Risk Management
You’ll be part of our Risk Systems team where you, together with your colleagues, will be responsible for modelling Ørsted’s financial risks. We are a team of 11 bright and curious developers looking for a Student Assistant. We have a very informal tone and a lot of freedom in the daily work but with high expectation to the quality of the work produced. All members of the team are very proficient within IT and Finance, and we thrive in delivering quality solutions utilising both skillsets.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • supporting developers in their daily work
  • assisting with modernising our risk platform, incl. converting SAS processes into Python
  • contributing to developing and optimising our inhouse modelling platform
  • performing technical coding tasks, business-oriented analyses, and ad hoc problemsolving
  • collaborating closely with the team’s technical lead on prioritising and shaping tasks that match your development interests.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • are currently studying for a bachelor's or master's degree with a focus on economics, mathematics, programming, or alike, and have at least 2 years left before graduating
  • have solid hands-on experience with Python and enjoy writing clean, structured code
  • bring a technical mindset, have a basic understanding of financial instruments and enjoy understanding and solving complex problems
  • thrive working both independently and as part of a team
  • love to read and write code and can see yourself thrive in a position with a focus on this where coding is the centre of what you do
  • are curious, proactive, and motivated by learning through meaningful, real world tasks.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
