Student Assistant
Imagine a future where you have kick-started your career by contributing to create a world that runs entirely on green energy.
Join us as a Student Assistant in Global Sustainability, where you’ll get hands-on experience with sustainable finance and sustainability strategy. This is your opportunity to deepen your knowledge of ESG ratings and reporting, sustainability integration and governance, and Ørsted’s strategic sustainability areas (decarbonisation, biodiversity, and community impact), while learning from a dedicated team in a global organisation
Welcome to Global Sustainability
In Global Sustainability we define the strategic direction for sustainability and work with teams across Ørsted to translate strategy into action, support them on integrating and leveraging sustainability to create business value, and help identify ESG risks. As the Group-wide subject matter experts we facilitate projects related to decarbonisation, biodiversity, and community impact and we lead sustainability due diligence and human rights initiatives.
You’ll be part of the Sustainability Foresight & Integration team, where your primary focus will be on ESG ratings, which validate our sustainability performance and are used by our investors. You will help us maintain and improve our performance by engaging with ESG rating agencies, reviewing, and submitting data to rating platforms, supporting internal action plans, and contributing to sustainability reporting and communication. You’ll also support tasks related to Ørsted’s strategic direction and priorities on sustainability and the integration of these into the business.
You’ll play an important role in:
- Strengthening Ørsted’s sustainability performance in financial markets by supporting ESG rating engagements and data reviews.
- Collaborating across departments with colleagues and other teams to support ESG-related tasks and action plans.
- Assisting the team in integrating Ørsted’s strategic sustainability priorities in larger cross-departmental projects.
- Supporting in ad hoc department tasks and preparation of material for colleagues and management, as part of the development and internal communication of our strategic approach to sustainability.
To succeed in the role, you:
- Have a passion for sustainability and an interest to learn about e.g. ESG ratings, green bonds, or sustainability reporting regulations such as the EU Taxonomy and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
- Have strong analytical skills and attention to detail, comfortable handling large volumes of information (such as ESG data) in a structured way and have an eye for using insights from this information to guide strategic decisions.
- Are self-driven, organised, and capable of working independently while delivering high-quality results on time.
- Possess strong communication skills, particularly in written communication, and can create clear, structured presentations tailored to your audience.
- Are in the final year of your bachelor’s degree or beginning a master’s degree in sustainability, finance, political science, business administration, economics, or a similar field.
- Speak and write English fluently (Danish is not a requirement).
The position is based in our office in Gentofte, with flexibility to work remotely as needed. The expected workload is approximately 15 hours per week, with flexibility around exam periods.
