(German Speaker) Senior Financial Accountant

 

Join us in this role where you’ll be responsible for a broad set of financial accounting and reporting processes concerning the Group’s legal entities, incl. month-end closing, reconciliations, and statutory accounts, as well as performing internal controls. You’ll also play a significant role in process optimisation, aided by your significant experience in the field.

You’ll be part of Financial Accounting APAC, US Support, DE and Nordic team where you, together with your colleagues, will be responsible for delivering standardised, high quality, and timely accounting and reporting products within FAC.

As a team, we create a workplace culture centred around teamwork and development through close collaboration with our colleagues and stakeholders within and outside of the FAC department.

 

You’ll play an important role in:

  • Drafting full sets of local financial statements and working in continual close collaboration with our other service delivery team in FAC, Financial Controlling
  • Preparing appropriate financial journals and reconciling your entities’ accounts with respect to period-end close deadlines as well preparing governmental reporting
  • Engaging with our external auditors, and providing high-quality audit documentation as part of our annual audit wheel
  • Reporting on legal entities for group reporting purposes (IFRS) and maintaining a high-quality control environment
  • Driving the continuous optimisation of financial reporting processes, specifically in connection with month-end and reporting systems with involvement in ad hoc projects

 

To succeed in the role, you:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, controlling, or similar (ACA-qualified) 
  • Have extensive relevant experience working in a public accounting firm or a finance department in an international company, incl. thorough knowledge of IFRS; familiarity with German GAAP is an advantage.
  • Fuent in written and spoken English at an academic level, with the ability to communicate complex financial matters clearly and effectively; proficiency in German is a plus. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) with experience using financial accounting ERPs such as SAP and Hyperion; knowledge of reporting tools like One Source and Cadency is a plus. 
  • Adapt well, take responsibility, are a self-starter. work collaboratively, and value teamwork across teams and countries. 
  • Demonstrate analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and the ability to critically assess information.
