Linux Infrastructure Specialist

Join us in this role where you’ll be responsible for the support and maintenance of our global Linux/Unix infrastructure products. In this role, you'll interface with colleagues across teams and borders and, with your knowledge and insights, will be an inspiration for providing a stable and secure Linux/Unix platform to business.

You’ll be part of Production IT IPL where you, together with your colleagues, will maintain and govern the Linux/Unix platforms across IT design, planning, and the execution of key Lifecycle management activities in close collaboration with your colleagues across IT. As a team, we are a great group of ambitious and caring colleagues who all play their unique role in delivering on our goals

 

You’ll play an important role in:

  • leveraging agile way of working to support the growth of the organisation by aligning team objectives with IT goals and objectives to ultimately contribute to achieving the organisation's vision
  • handling incident management by investigating and resolving problems, inefficiencies, and performance issues
  • supporting and setting up server environments, incl. security configuration, backups, and monitoring as per existing policies and standards
  • performing system tuning and optimisations for future growth and performance requirements
  • managing and scanning the overall Linux/Unix server health and functionality
  • ensuring Linux servers are secured and compliant with security policies by applying regularly scheduled updates and patches as well as responding to security vulnerabilities with appropriate priority.

 

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have solid experience with the Linux/Unix environment, maintaining and supporting operating systems and associated hardware
  • have sound experience with Oracle Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux on physical and virtual (VMware) platforms
  • have experience with Linux infra management suite, such as Red Hat Satellite and Red Hat IDM or similar tools
  • have a good understanding of the Azure and AWS cloud platform
  • have experience in scripting and automation
  • have excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills and demonstrated customer interaction skills and teamwork competences.
