Senior Data Governance Specialist

Join us in this role where you'll shape and drive the adoption of enterprise data governance practices across Ørsted, enabling business teams to treat data as a strategic asset and ensuring data products are managed consistently, governed effectively, and ready for analytics and AI.

Welcome to Ørsted Data Ecosystem

You'll be part of the Data Management Product Team, where you'll play a key role in accelerating adoption of Ørsted’s Enterprise Data Catalogue platform. Our platform is a strategic enabler for scaling data-driven decision-making, analytics, AI, and self-service data consumption across the organisation. In this role, you'll work closely with business stakeholders, data owners, engineers, architects, and leadership teams across Ørsted to identify, onboard, and govern new data products.

A significant part of your success will be your ability to engage stakeholders across the business, help them understand the value of data as a strategic business asset, and guide them through the onboarding and governance journey of their data products.

You'll play an important role in:

  • driving adoption of Ørsted’s Enterprise Data Catalogue platform by partnering with business domains to identify, onboard, and govern new data products that support analytics, AI, and business growth
  • establishing and evolving data governance frameworks, policies, and controls that enable trusted and scalable use of data across the organization
  • facilitating data product onboarding, governance workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities, ensuring ownership, metadata, quality standards, and governance are embedded from the start
  • driving metadata management, data cataloguing, business taxonomy, and governance practices that improve discoverability, interoperability, and reuse of data assets
  • defining and monitoring data quality standards and performance metrics that drive accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across data domains
  • acting as a trusted advisor to business and technology leaders, promoting a strong data culture and helping translate governance principles into tangible business outcomes.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex data, governance, and technology concepts into clear and engaging language for non-technical audiences, driving understanding and adoption
  • excel at stakeholder management and relationship building, enabling you to align business and technology teams, build consensus, and successfully onboard new data products
  • have experience working at the intersection of business and technology, combining data governance or data management expertise with an understanding of modern cloud platforms, preferably Azure and/or AWS, to help align business requirements with technical capabilities
  • have practical experience developing governance frameworks, standards, controls, and operating models that balance compliance, business value, and usability
  • have hands-on experience with enterprise data catalogues and metadata platforms such as Collate, OpenMetadata, DataHub, Collibra, Atlan, Informatica, or similar technologies
  • have experience defining and using governance KPIs or performance metrics to drive accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across data domains.
