Senior Platform Developer

Join us in this role where you’ll be building up an internal developer platform for empowering software developers across the organisation to build secure quality products with a fast time to market. The Internal Developer Platform consists of off-the-shelf components, customised open-source components, APIs, and tooling supported by governance, guidance, and documentation with the aim of scaling DevSecOps within our organisation. You’ll collaborate with development teams in the adoption of products and practices of our developer platform and will be responsible for their implementation and documentation, guidelines and examples to streamline the adoption.

 

Welcome to Application Architecture Centre of Excellence
You’ll be part of Ørsted Developer Platform (ØDP) team where you, together with your colleagues, will streamline and enhance our software development processes for developers. This role is about ensuring that the platform and its components are delivered according to software engineering, security, quality, and operations standards, following established best practices, but also that the platform provides a great developer experience. You’ll play an integral role in achieving both these goals by designing and delivering platform components, tooling, customisations, and API. As a team, we are following the Agile way of working, emphasise collaboration, continuous improvement, and cross-functional alignment to deliver our goals efficiently

 

You’ll play an important role in:

  • designing, developing, and maintaining a high-quality developer platform, incl. APIs, tooling, and customisations of commercial and open-source components
  • deciding on platform component implementation, e.g., internal design, tests, and code structure, and running PoCs to support technology choices
  • building quality tooling that empowers development teams including reference models and practices for adoption amongst developers
  • evangelising and supporting to increase awareness and adoption of the developer platform
  • automating through scripting and CI/CD pipelines and operating the developer platform
  • collaborating with platform users and architects to define platform APIs, CLIs, templates, and best practices.

 

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have experience with the entire software development lifecycle and a desire to help other developers achieve high software engineering and DevSecOps standards
  • have experience with several of the following: OOP, SOLID, DDD, TDD, Twelve-Factor Application, and cloud-native architecture principles
  • have experience with design, security, documentation, and contract specification for APIs
  • have experience building and maintaining deployment pipelines in accordance with good DevSecOps principles
  • have experience with software development in at least two of the following technology stacks: Python, .NET, Javascript, Java, and Go, as well as the curiosity and drive to take up new stacks
  • are a good collaborator and have strong communication skills for engaging with developers at all levels.
