Storage Domain Architect

Join us in this role where you’ll design and document the infrastructure domain architecture components for specific products offered to customers of an infrastructure product line based on overall enterprise infrastructure strategies, reference architectures, and topologies approved. You'll lead the design and documentation of customer-facing enterprise infrastructure products in our infrastructure landscape, both for cloud and on-premises, in a global set-up, based on business, application, and non-functional requirements with the offset from approved strategies, principles, and product reference architecture.

You’ll be part of Architecture & Technology Competence Centre where you, together with your colleagues, will be architecturally responsible and accountable within the Infrastructure Storage domain. You’ll design and develop principles, references, and solution architecture based on our Enterprise Infrastructure strategies in collaboration with the Enterprise Architecture function. You’ll also be responsible for our storage strategy and drive the storage technology roadmap and technology selections in close collaboration with the EA Centre of Excellence, solution managers, lead engineers, and infrastructure architects. As a team, we’re involved in building a sustainable green energy company with a diverse culture around the globe, whilst ensuring great cohesion and collaboration to build a successful architecture community.

 

You’ll play an important role in:

  • maintaining and developing the storage strategy and driving assessments (TIME) and roadmaps for the storage technologies, ensuring right and forward-thinking use and defining technical capability maps and driving technology selections for the technologies within the storage domain 
  • leading the design and documentation of technology components consumed by the enterprise infrastructure products based on business, application, and non-functional requirements in specific scope of storage, database, and data protection
  • identifying architecture patterns, design references, and solution architecture, developing architecture descriptions and guidelines and anchoring them in the organization
  • orchestrating communities and groups of SMEs, architects, developers, and relevant stakeholders to ensure standards and best practices and a common way of working with the storage domain’s technologies 
  • incorporating security and compliance controls in the storage technology component design according to our security standards as well as taking ownership and embracing Shift Left Security thinking
  • participating in change management planning of storage technology component changes and providing technical support throughout the technology’s life cycle process, continuously staying on top of trends and technologies relevant for the storage domain and supporting the evangelization of the technologies.

 

To succeed in the role, you:

  • possess general knowledge of infrastructure technologies, such as Network, Compute, Cloud, and have in-depth knowledge of the technology capability area within storage for both on-premises and cloud solutions
  • exhibit expertise in storage technologies, e.g. distributed storage systems across multiple continents, databases, backup/recovery, archiving, SAN, and vSan, with an in-depth knowledge of enterprise-level storage and archiving strategies and proficiency in various structured storage solution and configurations
  • have deep and profound experience with infrastructure such as code architecture, solution design, and documentation
  • demonstrate knowledge of and experience with standard IT frameworks, e.g. ITIL, TOGAF, and SAFe, and experience in regulatory frameworks like IEC 62443, NERC CIP and ISO 27001 is an advantage
  • have excellent communication and leadership skills.
