Geotechnical Engineer

Imagine a future where you help shape innovative foundation solutions for offshore wind farms

Join us in this role where you’ll provide geotechnical input and undertake analyses for the design and installation of offshore wind turbine foundations. Working across engineering disciplines, you’ll help solve complex technical challenges, improve our tools and methods, and contribute to research and industry collaboration

Welcome to Geotechnical Foundation Design
You’ll be part of the Geotechnical Foundation Design team where you, together with your colleagues, will play a crucial role in designing offshore wind turbine foundations. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will provide geotechnical input and undertake geotechnical analyses to support the design and installation of offshore wind turbine foundations. In addition, you will support R&D and industry collaborations, including the development and implementation of novel design and installation methodologies.

As a team, we share knowledge, value different perspectives, and support each other in turning complex challenges into practical solutions.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • supporting concept selection and detailed design of offshore wind turbine foundations, including monopiles, pin piles, and suction buckets
  • performing geotechnical analyses and conducting driveability assessments for offshore wind turbine foundations
  • collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions and solve complex geotechnical challenges associated with offshore foundation design
  • contributing to the development and improvement of in-house engineering tools, methodologies, and technical deliverables, including calculations, reports, and project documentation that support engineering decisions
  • participating in R&D and innovation projects to advance geotechnical design practices and support the development of novel design and installation methodologies
  • taking ownership of technical tasks, actively contributing to technical discussions, and constructively challenging existing practices to drive continuous improvement

To succeed in the role, you:

  • hold a M.Sc. or a Ph.D. degree in civil/geotechnical engineering (or equivalent)
  • have an interest in R&D activities that push the boundaries of geotechnical design practices
  • have experience with coding environments (e.g. MATLAB or Python) and geotechnical software packages (e.g. PLAXIS or FLAC)
  • have experience in the offshore wind industry as a geotechnical engineer (advantageous but not a prerequisite)
  • thrive in a collaborative and international environment, communicate effectively with stakeholders, take ownership of technical tasks, and bring a proactive, positive, and open-minded approach to delivering results.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
