Analyst, M&A and Business Development

Join us in this role where you'll support M&A and business development activities across a broad portfolio of renewable energy opportunities. You'll work on live transactions, financial modelling, commercial analysis, and strategic assessments that help shape Ørsted's growth ambitions in the Americas. 

 

Welcome to Commercial 

You'll be part of the M&A & Business Development team where you together with your colleagues will identify, assess, and execute investment opportunities across wind, solar, storage, and emerging technologies. Working alongside experienced commercial professionals, you'll gain exposure to complex transactions while partnering with stakeholders across Development, Origination, Finance, Legal, Tax, Trading, and Commercial Structuring. As a team, we're ambitious, collaborative, and curious. We challenge each other to find better solutions, share knowledge openly, and succeed as one team while creating value for Ørsted's growing renewable energy portfolio. 

 

You'll play an important role in: 

  • screening and evaluating M&A and business development opportunities across the renewable energy sector
  • building and maintaining financial models to assess project economics, valuations, and investment cases
  • supporting commercial due diligence processes and coordinating cross-functional workstreams
  • preparing analyses, recommendations, and decision materials for internal stakeholders and investment approvals
  • supporting the pricing, structuring, and risk assessment of commercial agreements and revenue contracts
  • contributing directly to the execution and closing of transactions across the Americas. 

 

To succeed in the role, you: 

  • have experience within investment banking, corporate finance, M&A, business development, renewable energy, or a related commercial environment
  • possess strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities and enjoy working with complex datasets
  • understand the commercial drivers that create value in renewable energy and infrastructure projects
  • can communicate clearly and build relationships with stakeholders across different functions and levels of seniority
  • thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities evolve and transactions move quickly
  • hold a degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Position salary range: 

The salary range for this position is USD $84,000.00 to USD $105,000.00.

Our salary ranges are based on position level and reflect the cost of labor across multiple U.S geographic markets. Individual pay within the range is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can provide more details about the applicable salary range during the hiring process.

 

Variable Compensation:  Our total rewards package may include discretionary short-term and long-term incentive opportunities based on your pay band and performance. These may be changed or suspended based on the sole discretion of the company
