Salary Range: One hundred five thousand dollars to one hundred ten thousand dollars per year

Job Responsibilities:

Duties include the following:

  1. Manage the development of wind, solar, and storage generation projects from the project identification stage through financial close and start of construction for projects in the MISO North & Northeast regions;
  2. Facilitate and coordinate with the Orsted cross-functional teams to bring utility-scale renewable energy projects to fruition;
  3. Provide reports to management by producing regular and frequent pipeline updates, project status updates, key project risks and other reporting documents;
  4. Identify development prospects, including market assessments, initial site reconnaissance, and fatal flaw identification; coordinate landowner communication and obtain land surface rights to design, permit, construct, operate, and maintain wind/solar/storage projects;  
  5. Manage the environmental study and permitting process;
  6. Establish and manage relationships with stakeholders, including elected officials, regulators, utilities, RTOs, and community leaders, to support project development and review relevant project contracts including real estate, tax abatement, EPC/BOP, PPA, GIA and other binding agreements;
  7. Ensure interconnection requests are submitted on time and provide guidance and support as needed; and
  8. Create, manage, control, and evaluate project budgets and schedules and support the financial analysis and modeling of each project.

 

Local telecommuting for two days per week is permitted.

25% domestic travel required.

Job Requirements:

Employer requires candidate to have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Economics, or a closely related field and at least two (2) years of work experience in an occupation developing projects of at least 150 MW within the MISO North Region.

Candidate must also have the following:

  1. Demonstrated experience running successful real estate acquisition and title/survey efforts to secure energy project sites gained through two (2) years of work experience;
  2. Demonstrated ability managing or supporting complicated permitting processes, including environmental permitting, local permitting, state permitting, and federal permitting gained through two (2) years of work experience;
  3. Demonstrated ability managing development budgets for high capital investment, utility scale renewable energy projects with capex of greater than $100 M gained through two (2) years of work experience;
  4. Demonstrated ability managing development schedules for high capital investment, utility scale renewable energy projects with capex of greater than $100M gained through two (2) years of work experience;
  5. Demonstrated ability monitoring MISO Generation Interconnection queue processes and timelines throughout the development process gained through two (2) years of work experience;
  6. Demonstrated experience supporting negotiations of key project agreements with external local stakeholders, such as road use agreements and decommissioning agreements, gained through two (2) years of work experience;
  7. Demonstrated experience synthesizing a complex body of knowledge including survey results, consultant reports, and legal opinions, and generating clear actionable analytical reports gained through two (2) years of work experience; and
  8. Demonstrated knowledge of basic renewable energy economic concepts and financial models gained through two (2) years of work experience or one (1) academic course specifically covering the topics.

All years of experience may be gained concurrently.
