Senior Manager, Large Load Strategy

Imagine a future where you shape Orsted’s commercial strategy and help to power large loads with clean energy.

Join us in this role where you’ll lead the commercial development of data center and large load projects, while contributing to broader strategy formation, including data-driven decision making . You’ll work across functions to mature new business models, structure commercial contracts and bring robust market insight to onshore generation and load projects.

Welcome to Revenue and Strategy
You’ll be part of the Revenue and Strategy team where you, together with your colleagues, will drive commercial strategy, conduct analysis of markets and pricing, and evaluate new growth opportunities across wind, solar, storage, and large load solutions. You’ll work closely with origination, development, trading, finance, and analytics teams to move complex opportunities from early ideation to execution. As a team, we collaborate openly, challenge assumptions with data, and support each other in delivering practical, highimpact solutions.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • leading commercial development of wind, solar, and storage projects serving data centers and other large load customers from early conceptualization through contract execution
  • building and managing relationships with large load customers, data center developers, utilities, regulatory authorities, and other external stakeholders that enable large load partnerships for Orsted
  • coordinating cross functional teams to structure competitive offers and progress projects toward final investment decisions
  • supporting strategic initiatives such as business plan prioritization, new market entry, and development of new business models (e.g. new customers classes, new technologies and new revenue optimization models)
  • developing and improving revenue & financial models, pricing tools, and market analytics to support commercial decision making; and supporting various commercial functions such as M&A, project finance, origination and valuation in executing the strategic vision
  • preparing materials for internal and external communication of strategic direction and for executive decision-making governance

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have experience helping IPPs commercializing large load investment opportunities in some of Orsted’s core markets including ERCOT, SPP & MISO
  • have deep understanding of US power markets, electricity tariffs, interconnection processes, and structured energy products
  • are comfortable working with market data, revenue models, and quantitative analysis to inform decisions (experience with AI coding tools considered a plus but not a requirement).
  • have experience with renewable energy business cases and financial modeling and are familiar with concepts such as tax equity, virtual PPAs, basis risk, etc.
  • communicate clearly with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders, including senior decisionmakers and external partners
  • bring a structured, analytical, and collaborative approach to solving complex commercial problems; and are motivated by building new opportunities and improving how teams use data to drive results.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
