Lead Marine Specialist

join us in this role where you’ll ensure that vessels operating across all Ørsted wind farms meet the highest standards of marine safety and performance. You’ll define our global vessel requirements, lead vessel inspections, and drive continuous improvements from early development through construction and into generation.

Welcome to Marine and Aviation
You’ll be part of the Marine and Aviation team where you, together with your colleagues, will develop and maintain global employer requirements, perform vessel inspections and audits, and support procurement and construction.

As a team, we collaborate closely, share knowledge openly, digitize our processes to reduce admin work, and support each other in challenging situations to succeed as one.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • defining and maintaining Ørsted’s global vessel requirements and marine assurance standards
  • managing and enhancing marine inspection processes, procedures, and digital tools
  • conducting physical vessel inspections and coordinating third‑party marine inspectors
  • leading mobilisation activities for newly built or newly contracted vessels
  • monitoring vessel safety and performance during execution and ensuring follow‑up actions
  • participating in supplier performance meetings to address issues and drive improvement.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • hold a background as Master Mariner, Naval Officer, or MSc in Naval Architecture
  • bring 5+ years of experience in vessel inspections, vetting, or maritime safety assurance
  • have 3+ years of offshore wind experience, ideally with exposure to logistics
  • possess strong knowledge of SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, and ISM systems
  • are analytical, structured, collaborative, resilient, and an effective communicator
  • have experience with vessel contracting and preferably experience within offshore wind.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
