WTG Drive Train Specialist

Join us in this role where you’ll handle major drivetrain integrity cases, perform root cause analysis, and support critical downtime events. You’ll be a key technical specialist within the mechanical area, contributing to innovations that improve asset health, reliability, and long term performance across our wind turbine portfolio.

Welcome to Generation Engineering and Execution
You’ll be part of WTG, Structures and Blades where you, together with your colleagues, will deliver technical expertise, product development, and operational support across offshore wind. The area consists of specialist teams within electrical, mechanical, blades, and structures, supporting our assets globally and collaborating closely with regions, suppliers, and OEMs.

As a team, we collaborate across disciplines, continuously learn and improve, empower each other, and take pride in making the world run even more on sustainable energy.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • performing root cause analysis, failure mode evaluation, and definition of mitigating solutions.
  • providing technical support for major integrity incidents, safety critical events, and warranty cases.
  • managing drivetrain retrofit and upgrade initiatives to improve turbine performance.
  • collaborating with suppliers and industry partners across the value chain, including OEMs.
  • supporting diagnostics activities related to field failures and failure development.
  • reporting findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders and partners.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • demonstrate a proactive and structured approach to technical problem solving.
  • have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or marine engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • bring hands on experience with wind turbine or industrial drivetrains, particularly planetary gearboxes.
  • have experience identifying failure modes in gears and bearings, including inspection and evaluation of damaged components.
  • are comfortable working in an international and cross functional environment.
  • communicate clearly and fluently in both written and spoken English.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
