WTG Main Bearings Specialist

Join us in this role where you’ll handle major integrity cases, root cause analysis and support critical downtime events. You’ll be a key player within the mechanical area and contribute to driving innovation aimed at improving asset health and performance.

 

Welcome to Generation Engineering and Execution
You’ll be part of WTG, Structures and Blades where you, together with your colleagues, will pioneer and push the boundaries for offshore operations further. There are three different teams with experts within their field, (WTG Electrical, Mechanical, Blades and Structures) who deliver technical expertise and product development to our regions. We support our entire portfolio with new solutions, sustaining us as the global offshore champion.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • root cause analysis and failure mode, effects and mitigating solution
  • providing technical support for major incidents (integrity and safety) and warranty cases
  • product management of drivetrain retrofits and upgrades
  • industry collaboration and development of suppliers in collaboration with key parts of the value chain incl. collaboration with the OEMs
  • cooperating with Diagnostics functions on field failures and progression and reporting and presenting to Asset Owners and Joint Venture Partners
  • engaging with Engineering on future turbine platforms to include field learning

 

To succeed in the role, you:

  • demonstrate a proactive approach to your work
  • have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or marine engineering or similar
  • have experience working with wind turbine large size main bearings preferably in direct drive wind turbines
  • have experience in failure mode identification on bearings, including evaluation of endoscope inspection results, and disassembly inspection of damaged components.
  • have experience working in an international setting, and speak and write English fluently
  • bolted connection experience is a benefit
