Head of Generation APAC

Imagine a future where you set the standard for safe, high-performing offshore wind operations across APAC, creating value today while preparing the next wave of markets

Join us in this role where you’ll lead Ørsted’s Generation Hub in APAC, based primarily in Taiwan, and spend most of your time on the ground with our teams and assets (average 5 days per month). You’ll be accountable for safety, compliance, operational performance, and value creation across our operating assets and operational readiness of any future markets in APAC.

Welcome to Generation
You’ll be part of Generation APAC where you, together with your colleagues, will operate and optimize our offshore wind assets in Taiwan and build operational readiness for new markets across APAC. You’ll hold direct leadership of approx. 100 employees with 40-50 indirect supporting roles. The organisation will grow to +140 employees in direct reference during the next 4-5 years and report to the Chief Generation Officer.

As a team, we lead with safety, share decisions openly and support each other to deliver reliable renewable power for decades.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • leading the Generation in APAC across safety, quality, environment, operations and technology, finance and commercial, stakeholder management, health and wellbeing, and people and development
  • delivering target production-based availability across the Taiwan cluster, covering approximately 200 turbines and six onshore and offshore substations
  • owning cost control, efficiencies, and value delivery for Generation APAC, supported by robust five-year cost, EBITDA
  • managing joint venture interfaces and commercial agreements, including service and warranty contracts with SGRE, and strong governance across the hub
  • strengthening compliance across labor, environmental, grid code, and critical infrastructure requirements, aligned with ISO management systems and Ørsted standards
  • building operational excellence, supply-chain resilience, and talent succession to support expansion and readiness for current development markets being Taiwan, Korea, and Australia.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • bring leadership experience from offshore wind or another asset-heavy, safety-critical industry (e.g., power, utilities, aviation, semiconductor manufacturing, or equivalent)
  • role-model a safety-first mindset, with curiosity about risk, and the ability to embed strong HSSE culture across employees and contractors
  • combine operational excellence with commercial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, contract governance, and stakeholder influence
  • thrive in a global matrix, connecting APAC with Global Generation and collaborating across functions to deliver shared outcomes
  • communicate fluently in English and engage effectively in Mandarin or commit to building this capability to lead locally in Taiwan
  • hold a degree in business, engineering, technology, or equivalent experience.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
