Offensive Security Specialist

Join us in this role where you’ll become Offensive Security Specialist in our Offensive Security team within our Cyber Defence Centre. In this position, you’ll be responsible for ensuring effective pen tests and red team services as well as cooperating with our blue team to improve detection measures.
Welcome to the Cyber Defence Centre
You’ll be part of our Offensive Security team where you will work closely with colleagues in the Cyber Defence Centre (CDC) to plan and carry out penetration testing, red and purple team exercises, and threat intelligence assessments. You’ll collaborate across regions and cultures, working with specialists from Digital Technology, security, and business units across Ørsted. As a team, we will design, improve, and embed security practices across the business, while building strong relationships with skilled and innovative colleagues.
You’ll play an important role in:
- planning and performing penetration testing activities, including defining testing methods, contributing to scoping discussions and business meetings, executing tests, reporting findings, and providing clear, practical guidance on remediation and improvements to detection mechanisms
- carrying out red and purple team exercises to help validate and strengthen defensive controls, detection capabilities, and response processes
- automating security tests as part of our continuous security validation program to enable consistent, repeatable, and scalable testing
- supporting the blue team and contributing to the overall strategy, priorities, and maturity of the Cyber Defence Center
- analyzing the techniques, tactics, and behavior of threat actors targeting the energy sector and safely recreating relevant attack scenarios in a controlled, challenging environment to strengthen our defenses.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have solid hands-on knowledge of common operating systems and security tools used in offensive security and testing
- bring experience from a similar role, with practical exposure to red team activities, adversary simulation, or advanced penetration testing.
- have a strong technical passion for information security and stay curious about new threats, techniques, and tools
- can communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely in English, adapting your message to both technical and non-technical audiences
- value collaboration and understand the importance of embedding red teaming and penetration testing into everyday information security practices
- are motivated, curious, and comfortable working independently, while actively contributing as a trusted and supportive team player.
