Senior Data Engineer

Join us in this role where you’ll play a key part in transforming how core business processes, enabling Ørsted commodity trading, are managed. You’ll help secure both current and future revenue by designing and building the data pipelines replacing semi-manual workflows with scalable and trusted data for a growing portfolio and increasingly complex contracts. This work is rooted in engineering precision, data quality, and resilient architecture that enables reliable data for our business.

You’ll be part of a globally distributed team where you, together with your colleagues, will be working at the intersection of technology and business operations, developing solutions that support critical processes for deal capture, management, logistics and settlement of non-standard energy contracts, making this role both impactful and highly connected to core business processes.

 

 

You’ll play an important role in:

  • developing and maintaining secure, monitored, and peer-reviewed data ingestion pipelines for energy trading-related data
  • developing and maintaining the deal capture process within our in-house systems for complex contracts
  • modernizing our data tech-stack by migrating from outdated systems to a more lightweight, modular cloud architecture
  • collaborating closely with fellow team members and business stakeholders to identify inefficiencies and propose innovative data solutions.

 

 

To succeed in the role, you:

  • are proficient in Python and object-oriented programming, with a passion within data
  • have experience with DevOps, including logging, testing, monitoring, and alerting within data pipelines
  • have experience in Data Warehousing: Azure Synapse, Azure Data Foundation and classic RDBSMs
  • are an experienced team player that works well in Agile environment who is ready to take responsibility and ownership of their tasks
  • have proven track record of introducing team-wide standards and mentoring others.
