Senior Data Engineer

Join us in this role where you’ll play a key part in transforming how core business processes are managed. Your work will directly contribute to developing the solution that supports securing both current and future revenue by digitizing a heavy process with a robust, scalable system for handling our growing portfolio and increasingly complex contracts. You’ll be part of globally distributed team working at the intersection of technology and business operations where you, together with your colleagues, will develop solutions that enable automated processes for the management of our processes for deal capture, management, logistics and settlement of non-standard energy contracts making this role both impactful and highly connected to core business processes.

 

You’ll play an important role in:

· Influencing the technical set-up of the Trading and Revenue data platform. You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines

· Building APIs and microservices for data ingestion and retrieval, for both batch and real-time data

· Improving data user experience and trust by ensuring that we share data optimized for performance and reliability

· Driving data standards and best practices by contributing to data quality initiatives, documentation, and governance practices

· Enabling analytics, trading, and business use cases by creating a suite of data engineering tools for data users across the trading domain, providing reliable data access for various technical levels, and collaborating with analytics and product teams to package data as data products

 

To succeed in the role, you

· are proficient in Python for data processing, automation, and object-oriented programming, with a passion within data

· have solid experience with Relational databases (Synapse, PostgreSQL) and with (ETL/ELT) pipelines, such as Nifi and Airflow

· are familiar with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, including logging, testing, monitoring, alerting, and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes

· have experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)

· are familiar with kafka streaming writing consumer and producer applications in Python (nice to have)

· have the ability to lead technical initiatives and enjoy mentoring others.You are comfortable collaborating with non-technical stakeholders and translating business needs into technical solutions

· enjoy taking responsibility, shaping solutions, and driving improvement initiatives.
