Senior Power BI Developer

Imagine a future where you drive the transformation of enterprise business intelligence by optimizing high-performing data models that power decisions across the organization.

Join us in this role where you’ll lead the development and optimization of advanced Power BI solutions, supporting the migration from legacy platforms and enabling scalable, high-performance analytics. You’ll translate complex business needs into efficient technical solutions while continuously improving data models and performance.

Welcome to AI, Data, and Architecture Platform

You’ll be part of the Business Intelligence team where you, together with your colleagues, will develop and optimize enterprise-grade BI solutions across multiple business areas. The team consists of BI consultants and an architect and is a key part of  Ørsted Eata Ecosystem.

As a team, we collaborate closely, share knowledge openly, and support each other in delivering impactful data solutions.

You’ll play an important role in:

- leading performance optimization of complex Power BI solutions across multiple data sources, including identifying bottlenecks across semantic, query, and visual layers.

- revisiting and rebuilding data models to improve scalability, refresh times, and query performance using best practices such as star schema design and incremental refresh.

- defining and maintaining standards for DAX, Power Query (M), and tabular models, while supporting and mentoring less experienced developers.

- proposing and prototyping architectural improvements, integrated within the wider data ecosystem.

- collaborating with data platform engineers to optimize upstream data structures and ensure efficient end-to-end performance.

- contributing to the continuous evolution of the Power BI platform and development practices.

To succeed in the role, you:

- bring strong hands-on experience developing and optimizing enterprise-grade Power BI solutions, including resolving complex performance challenges.

- demonstrate expert-level DAX capabilities, including optimizing calculations, applying advanced patterns, and analyzing query performance.

- have deep knowledge of Power Query (M), tabular models, storage modes, and  aggregation strategies.

- understand SQL and query optimization concepts, with the ability to identify root causes of performance issues, or equivalent experience.

- are familiar with performance analysis tools such as DAX Studio, Tabular Editor, or similar solutions.

- communicate clearly in English and collaborate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
