Join us in this role where you’ll participate in driving the development and implementation of strong risk governance frameworks and support senior management and commercial 1st line of defence functions with high-quality reporting and independent risk assessments.

 

Welcome to Group Revenue Risk
You’ll be part of the newly established Group Revenue Risk, Governance & Risk Analytics team within Group Revenue Risk where you, together with your colleagues, will you’ll play an important role in safeguarding the financial risks from fluctuations in energy prices and production volumes from Ørsted’s operating assets (wind farms, solar photovoltaic and power plants). Our department is on a journey to become a trusted best-in-class 2nd line of defense function, and we have high ambitions for raising our risk management maturity by improving the processes and governance related to e.g., risk identification, risk assessment, risk monitoring and risk reporting You will be central in designing and implementing the framework needed to achieve this ambition.

We have a diverse spectrum of stakeholders in Finance, Trading and 1st line risk management functions. To be an engaged and trusted 2nd line function we must have a comprehensive understanding of the risks from the underlying business and how these are managed by the 1st line of defense functions. This implies getting familiar with trading and hedging strategies, understanding the price structures of our assets, and assessing the impact on Ørsted’s overall risk appetite.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • developing transparent, high-quality risk reporting to senior management and other stakeholders
  • developing and implementing clear governance to enable fast, risk informed decision-making of high quality and ensure clarity in risk accountability, roles and responsibilities, and compliance with
  • reviewing and challenging the operational limits and related governance structure (e.g. breach handling and escalation paths) established in 1st line of defence functions to safeguard against breach
  • improving our risk management maturity by developing and implementing standards for risk identification, risk assessment, risk response, risk monitoring and risk reporting
  • understanding the price/volume dynamics and optionality used in 1st line of defence functions, and progressively taking ownership of well-defined analysis and deep dives
  • contributing to a high-performance and inclusive team culture who acts as risk ambassadors for the wider organization.

 

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have a master’s degree in economics, mathematics, finance or similar
  • have a couple of years of experience with financial risk management, ideally from a three-lines-of-defense setup in e.g. the financial sector
  • are familiar with core market risk concepts (VaR/ES, stress/scenario testing, risk decomposition) and have a basic understanding of financial derivatives
  • operate with a structured approach and can take ownership of your tasks, even in a dynamic and diverse environment
  • are motivated by developing and improving strong and timely reporting, i.e. can analyze and communicate complex matters clearly
  • have a strong, process-oriented working approach and take an active interest in continuously improving workflow, implementing and improving governance processes end-to-end
